The newer one is a darker shade of green (which looks much cheaper and less-shiny), the yellow is a brighter, more lemon-y shade, the Autobot badge is stupid tiny, the head is cast in red with only the visor and faceplate painted, and the visor is painted the same reflective color as the windows instead of its own shade of blue. The bits in the forearms are also yellow now. In my opinion the red bleeding through the yellow face paint isn't really that much of an issue.
Honestly? Just put some super glue on the crack. I bet it'll hold. Gorilla brand, if you can find it. I used that shit to repair a ball joint on a Grimlock model kit once. It's still holding strong, and there's a lot of stress put on it.
