It's different that I generally prefer 6 studs on regular minifig cars, but those don't have a frame of reference. An 1970 Challanger is flat that makes it look wide.
Look at these ratios. The width:height ratio is nearly 3:2, and the width:length ratio is 5:2 meaning, if the lego model is 6 studs wide, it should only be 4 stud high and 15 stud long to be somewhat on-model, compared to the 6 stud height and 18 stud length the 75893 Dodge Charger has.
But regardless of all that, these new 8 stud wide speed champion sets finally had something that bugged me in lego for a long time. More than 1 seat. How does it make sense that most Lego cars are 1 seaters, how wasteful it? I know they don't look good in lego City settings because the roads would need to get wider but still, I think them having only 1 seat really lowers their playability
