And fucking Ultimates took almost 10 years before it started to fray apart. Ultimates 3 written by Loeb didn't happen until late 00s. Ultimate Spiderman and XMen came out in 00. Ultimates didn't come out until 2002. So you had 8 long years of a lot of refreshing new takes of Marvel characters that were actually ranging from great to good. Even after Loeb took a shit on the Ultimate universe, taht didn't stop Spiderman and even sequel Ultimates comics from being great.
Oh, and the Hickman run you're talking about? That was 10s, after Loeb and Bendis destroyed everything. Comics have never stopped being great. Things just get shuffled around, but there's always something great and interesting every single year, just like how htere's always been crap.
