The stores are worth checking out; they tend to have a strange selection including stuff that you can only get online and even some retired sets; particularly the large ones. They had Assembly Square, the Piano and Chang'e's Mooncake Factory and Mei's Dragon Car which I never saw in the normal stores here.
They also sell polybags; straight up they'll have an entire rack of polybags. Usually there's about 5 or so, including recent or even upcoming GWPs; I've had the upcoming pumpkin farm GWP for over a month now.
As for the actual Discovery Centre itself: no single adults allowed. They will actually refuse you permission if you're not with a child and you're not missing much. My local one has a big indoor softplay, a 4D Cinema, some "build a car and race it" ramps, a big table with a microscale Ninjago island on it that you can build shit on and two rides. Oh and a really shitty Miniland. Fun for a kid as a day out, but there'd be fuck all to do as an adult.
In essence worth a look at the store if there's a set you want that's recently Sold Out or if you want to stock up on a bunch of polybags for one reason or another, but the attraction is for kids 4-7.
