Its rather sets like pic related, where a certain minifigure is named after a specific historical person. To me, having Dr, Porsche himself in this set adds nothing to it compared to have a 2nd nameless engineer.
Same with some of the staff cars they sold (and still sell). A generic officer on the back seat would be just fine and it added no value to the set to call the figures Canaris, or Paulus or Runstedt on the box cover. It only offends those who already get offended by everything that is WW2-related even more. And while its funny to read articles and tweets of those people, Toy companies (at least here in Germany) should be careful with those things because it really could harm their sales figures.
