Everything made between 1916 and and the mid 1990's are just about bullet proof, tho and use electromechanical controls instead of solid state electronics. A lot of younger guys have gotten into the older Lionel trains. I suppose there's something kind of liberating about running a massive die cast locomotive that buzzes, smells of ozone and that you could beat a man to death with in a space smaller than the average HO layout.
