I'm not sure what the first toy to ever include one was, but "The Toys That Made Us" claimed with G.I. Joe they started out as little index cards that Marvel Writer Larry Hama had made up to help him write the tie-in comic as a sort of Series Bible.
There's things in IDW that are ok such as certain concepts and ideas, but I dipped out on it awhile ago. I did the same thing with G.I. Joe and Transformers aside from ARAH. Anything IDW may as well not exist to me.

tmnttoys.com. I just wish some of the photos were better and higher quality; I believe the site's been around for awhile, and that's probably why the photos could stand to be better. I'd like it if they re-organized the site to be more like
yojoe.com where there's more detail on each figure and accessory and higher quality photos and scans of packaging and file cards.
