I feel like a lot of people undersell the fact that most of the late 90's/early 2000's licensed sets actually have some soul to them. Most notably Harry Potter, whose sets were based off the books and thin reference material instead of the films. There's a lot of unique ideas and pieces in these sets that you'd not see today.
