Call it After Hours Art or something. The statues are playing with each other. Each painting is a little world with characters up to hijinks.
Or theme it after art restoration, where you've got characters who are supposed to be restoring old works of art but to do so they physically enter the world of the artwork through magical means to fix things that have gone wrong or replace missing pieces. Then there's an antagonist character or two who are trying to despoil the art and wreck it. Lots of brick-built giant paintbrushes. Fun opportunities to build scenery and use plates to add on layers of paint. Encourage the kids to take the role of the art restorer as they build the art, and teach them a little about famous works.
