>>6922440>a nice hero cycleIf by "great" you mean "literally the most barebones structure of a fantasy story beat by beat" then sure, I guess it does live up to that.
>good soundtrackVince DiCola's synth tracks are fine but you have to be delusional if you think Stan Bush and bargain bin Iron Maiden / Black Sabbath that permeates most of the soundtrack is anything but a hilariously laughable agglomeration of overused 80s music clichés for today's standards.
>great voice actorsLike that matters if most of them hated their roles and sound like they just want to be dead.
>a memorable cast of characters with unique personalitiesSure, because Hot Rod, Arcee, Springer and Wheelie aren't just generic surface level character archetypes. The closest anyone comes to being unique in there is Ultra Magnus, his desperate rashness and insecurity could work as an interesting contrast to Prime's calmer stoicism, but he ends up being pretty much useless.
If something, I'll give you that there are moments where the animation is genuinely great, Unicron's attack in the introduction and most large battle scenes are pretty well executed from a technical perspective, but that's about it. With all of that said though, if you feel that strong of an emotional attachment to it then I can understand if nothing above matters for your personal evaluation, which is totally fine. Depression is a hard thing to overcome and, if you can do it by finding some joy in a film, no matter how shitty it is, then I'm genuinely thankful for you. It's pointless to use objective values against something that's intimately emotional, I am not in the position of invalidating your feelings of happiness when you watch it.
