>>9834168Yeah, plenty of "what if they'd done X instead" to go around. Part of the problem is Halo as a universe grew too big, became too successful for its own good and Microsoft/343 opted to milk it for every drop they could. We keep seeing it happen, I mean Star Wars is just the most obvious example.
>originally just a film trilogy with a couple tie-in novels, an infamous tv special and cartoon series or two>universe gradually fleshed out through more and more novels and comics, games, toys>decision is made to produce more movies, continuing to expand the universe with still more media>universe comes under new ownership who decide to turn it into a cashcow, their way>established canon thrown out in favor of "new content" from now owners>new content picks up where the original trilogy had concluded with great finality, is a mockery of the source material>Star Wars is now ruined in the eyes of most fansReplace Star Wars with Halo and it's just about the same story, sadly.
