When I did it was usually finding an obscure little shop that just so happens to still have a stock of old Space sets, Ice Planet and the like. These days "the dream" is mostly focused on my own collection, finding MOCs or half-finished projects I "forgot" about, which often are Bionicle. I got some good inspiration for a custom Toa that way.
