Of course they aren't designed this way. It's a flaw from the factory. Clover had the problem with the joint not going in all the way in the bottom piece, so the easy fix from Daibadi was to trim, or sand the bottom peg so the joint, and thus the "cup" part of the torso would fit snugly against the bottom piece.

Same with Shamrock. In some cases it's the top peg of the joint. Either way the ifx is the same.
