>>7742971Nah there's nothing wrong with that, I feel the same way. I've always favored a quantity over quality approach with army men (as Napoleon said, quantity is a quality all its own), though in more recent times I've tempered this mindset some as the awful quality of a lot of what's out there these days can't make up for it in quantity, heh. Also, I simply don't have the space for division-sized units; still have a few in my plastic armed forces but I had to downgrade many others to battalion or smaller. Even after the great purge, thousands of men remain...
But yeah, I can't justify the price of a handful of admittedly great quality, nicely detailed figures when I could have several handfuls of lesser quality men for the same price (a big reason I'll never get into wargaming, no idea how 40k fans put up with it). I've made a few exceptions, those Marx Japanese for example (mostly cuz of the flag guy heh), but that's pretty rare for me.
These guys were a nice treat, found them at Dollar Tree in the spring and had to raise a battalion, I liked them so much. The poses are at least partly inspired by older sets but they're different enough to stand out on their own, unlike most of the clones, copies and recopies out there. And the price was certainly right, $1.25 Cdn a package.
