Here's a shining example of purely unnecessary work. Lesson learned: study references IN DEPTH before starting to build anything.
Usually I prefer hand tools over power tools when modelling, but this is a counter-example: Dspiae electric sanders allowed me to smooth out the part without damaging anything around it.
