>>8684317>but BW toys were a pretty significant step forward in quality and designthats pretty subjective. Others could argue that it was a negative shift for how transformers were designed. Its when most bots become a series of ball joints, hollow limps, shell pieces and pegs. A lot of the newer figures can get kind of floppy and not align right because of changes in design that started with beast wars.
They're also less kid friendly. Back in the day you could hand most kids a small gestalt figure and you didn't have to worry. There was nothing on that figure they could pop off and eat. Most new figures have limbs that can be taken apart and choked on. The original sinnertwin was harmless, the new one is a choking hazard.
No, the best transformers were things like jetfire, shockwave, hungrr, etc. Ones that had ratchet joints in their legs and arms. They were firm in both robot and alt mode. Its a shame that we can't get back to that outside of MPs.
And don't get me started on how many of the new transformers look like they are made from plastic ment for dollar tree toys or taiwan made model kits. The first wave of beast wars toys used good plastic. But bots like optimal optimus used pretty cheap looking stuff in places. His feet look like shit.
