>>8384163Your complaint about the Ultimates is that they're different characters from the 616 characters.
That's Millar's intent on superheroes in a post-9/11 world. He wasnt trying to just insert the same characters into a modern world. They're entirely new characters with the same powers and names.
>what about the more realistic takes on various heroes like Thor using tech? Nah fuck that, he's magic for realzOh geez, really? Come on, that was a great twist. Was Thor a real god or not? Was he just a hippy douchebag who happened to find the hammer? Maybe it's true that Thor did just steal some tech from a company trying to create superpowers.
If i had a complaint about the Ultimates 2, it's the way the bad guys begged for their lives. I mean, i get it, it's a more realistic take on humans getting powers, but all of them? Not good.
And i'm apathetic about Doom. I liked Ellis' FF but the designs are just meh to me. I don't hate them and i don't especially like them.
As for cross over events, i didn't really like a lot of them, but we got SOME decent stories and moments from them. I grew to like Ares because of them. BTW, these events were influenced a lot by the Ultimate universe. So this may be why you didn't really like them. I was fine with them, but i can understand your complaints.
