>>10722687>i prefer the brown mustard colors because it reflects the 40k universeThat's some seriously cognitive dissonance, because in reality, official art and models actually look like gold metallics.
Maybe if Joytoy wasn't cheaping out on paint for their $50-140+ figures that only stand 4.5", they'd spend a little more money to give them edge highlights and other techniques to make the gold look like gold does on the box art of the models.
... but then, those models are only painted that way because they're tini-tiny and the paint job needs to be stylized to make a tini-tiny model look good. For 1/20 scale figures, they should be take advantage of the fact that China proudly uses toxic paints that can actually look gold and reflrective.
Good Smile and Bandai have done that for their $90 figures that stand 6". Even fucking Toy Biz and Jazwares has done shiny metallic paint jobs for their $20 6" figures. So why can't Joytoy do something really fucking shiny like from the art and animated series for their 4.5" $80 figures? Put some weathering on that reflective surface and holy fuck, wouldn't that look amazing?
But no... mustard paints with flecks of metallic bits is all Joytoy can afford to put on their 1:20 scale figures that stand only 4.5" and cost 3-8x more than shit Hasbro has produced for 1:12 scale figures.
And all the shills and fanboys in this thread think that's A+++++++ work and anyone who expects better is insane
