I'm probably biased, but I just love the absurd colors they chose for him. He screams "90's snow suit". His accessories are pretty wild too, altogether, he comes off as looking almost alien.
Kudos on your swamp thing point too. It's a criminal shame the swamp thing cartoon didn't catch on. It's hokie, but it's the fun kind of hokie. A fun cross between Captain Planet and the Ninja Turtles. The toyline is especially neat.
