>>10794694In summary, these guys are indeed quite the departure from what you normally expect of toys of these characters - as mentioned earlier, there's a huge reliance on using panels (that become backpacks for all of them) to make shells to hide most of their bits; the only one not guilty of mostly shellforming is Starscream. They're all also fairly hollow, and it looks like the 'battle damage/replaced parts' gimmick was abandoned in the second pack in favor of more articulation (which I'm fine with). The blend of looks for the characters is somewhat interesting - as I said, I like Starscream's less-boxy look and Optimus' head, and this is probably the first and only time I've ever thought Bumblebee in any incarnation actually looked cool - but I'm really, really not liking the new plastic they're using (I'm already seeing stress marks on the various pins and tabs on each of the characters after only transforming them once or twice).
Questionable materials aside, they're not bad looking figures in-hand, but I'm still wondering why they released toys based on a game that's apparently been trapped in development hell since at least 2017 with no announced date for final release (or even a beta release). Whatever the case, while they look interesting enough, I'm more than a little concerned about the longevity of the toys themselves due to the cheap plastic combined with all those moving pins and panels - I'll be relegating them to 'display only' for their own protection.
