Half the time it feels like mattel doesnt know what to do with MotU and just always goes back to "remember the 80s????? Remember thr old thing????"
MotU is so imaginative and can be anything. I just wish mattel would put the work into it and stop making stupid choices. Spop only was good cause they let it have like 50 episodes. Why the fuck was cgi so short? Why is revelation/revolution so short? They keep cutting stuff before it can get good and it's so frustrating.
Id be open to motu doing whatever w chars cause they chars are fun. I just feel v frustrated w mattel cause it feels like theyre putting effort into barbie or Monster High then making the bare minimum effort with MotU. Motu CAN be big with the average person if they just tried.
I dont care what this board thinks of spop but it was so popular then mattel made stupid decisions that made them unable(or unwilling) to make bank on it.
They still have done barely anything from 200x. They let the naked stratos wave almost kill the line.
I think origins and masterverse are really good toylines but i feel like mattel is doing the bare minimum to get ppl to care.
I like all the old stuff even if im in my early 20s but i feel like mattel is scared to really push motu forward idk.
They can't bank on 80s nostalgia forever.
