Our interrogations in the town of Hellstadt and Viversburg revealed much - the taint of dark magic still clings to the hamlets and villages of this land even decades after the fall of the cursed Night Lord, and the dead do not rest easy in their graves. At the Black Rose tavern, we apprehended a heretic in possession of forbidden tomes and alchemical reagents. Before he expired, we were able to extract the likely source of this evil: a ruined castle deep in the mountains, one of the many put under siege during the Fright Wars. I have sent my adjutant back with maps and files detailing the situation, and a formal request for a full purge of the entire region, as well as this letter. There is no time for reinforcement : tonight, I will delve into the ruined keep and attempt to find what I suspect to be the Necromancer.
