>>10806560My rule of thumb (which I'm sure some people will disagree with) is to assume that half of the spraycan's stated volume is useful paint. If it says 100ml on the can, I expect to get 50ml of paint and the other 50ml is the propellant.
After decanting and waiting for an hour or so for the propellant to boil off, I will most likely find that I have about 40ml of liquid left because some of the thinner evaporated during that time. So I will add 10ml or so of levelling thinner to get back to 50ml and that would correspond roughly to 1:1 thinning ratio if I were to use the paint from a jar.
