My first build was a more traditional winged aircraft with a hinged "Ferris wheel" style loveseat with a pair of joysticks in the middle that rose up and in front of the craft like a ridiculous Double-Decker Couch, but I wasn't digging how it was photographing so I dismantled it and made the podracer. That one used the metal detectors.
Anyway, the green cylinders/dark bley claws are connected like this. The clip brick on the underside holds the flashlight in place, and there's enough handle on the other side of the clip for the claw to grab onto.
