>>9983909I hate to rain on the bootstraps illusion, but if everyone had jobs making at least $400k a year, they'd be more willing to pay higher prices for goods, which would lead to inflation until $400k was worth as little as maybe $40,000 is today or less. There is no way to not have an underclass, a middle class and an upper class. The amount of people in each class is the only variable. Bootstraps only work if you work intelligently, play the economic game right and have some luck as well.
