White is such a bitchy color to paint, why I quit gundam models. Definitely takes patience. Thin layers really help, plus waiting for a fully dried and cured layer. Can take a few coats and a few days to do right, and the humidity in the air can make it more difficult. Still, a primer for white is your best bet, and better quality paint will help too. White and red can be the hardest colors to paint well, so dont feel like all your attempts will end with the same results.
