It's also wacky as shit in a way that really typifies the 2000s animes the same way Back to the Future 2 is the definitive 80s movie. Bit of a cultural touchstone if you will. Sure it's got nuthin' on Bebop but it's 1/4th the length but it manages to get everything it wanted to do done in that time.
