We often look at the newer Transformers figures with an air of "they're not as good as they used to be", like we've got thinner plastic full of gaps, lack of joints like wrist swivels and often times lacking paint.
Were the older figures legitimately better engineered though?
Like the new Bumblebee just looks straight up terrible compared to the old one, that's an obvious case, but compare a Legacy figure to something like, say, 2010's Generations Drift. Drift FEELS sturdier, his transformation feels a bit more intricate, but his articulation is definitely inferior. Sure looks better though.
Where's the line of comparison meant to be drawn?
