This is the amount of brittle blue pieces I've found in my collection thus far. I'm like 80% through selling all of my kits and it pisses me off so much because I keep getting to kits that have a brittle blue piece that breaks during disassembly and now have to add it to a bricklink wanted list. It's gonna cost me like $40+ to replace all these stupid parts that break.
Can't include them in my kits because people will just complain. It seems like most of them come from the year 2006-2007, almost all the kits that these pieces come from are from that time frame including some Exo-Force kits, some Star Wars kits and other various kits.
The brown pieces break less often but that pisses me off too.
Strangely, some of the blue pieces that have broke are very brittle, but not heavily discolored, a few 1 x 10 plates broke with very little pressure but the color is completely blue and normal unlike the older stuff.
Most notably the parts come from two 7662 Tie Crawler sets that I have, every single blue piece in my collection from that kit is a "brittle blue."
It's hard to tell the discoloration in these parts from the photo, but when you look at a normal blue next to a brittle one the difference is really clear. The color changes to get much darker, not as dark as a dark blue, but kind of an in-between color.
