>>8448051Use acrylic paints. Enamel is thinned with acetone, so it will damage the plastics. I use vallejo mecha paint, but citadel is pretty good and some people get good results from anitas or apple barrel.
You should use a primer for lighter colors, but not neccessary.
I do use black first, but typically do the cracks and grooves, then paint and avoid those spots, but dont always go full out.
Key is to break down the parts individually, and use thin layers and a good top coat, let it dry AND cure before assembling the parts. Then do any detailing. Use blue masking tape if you dont have the most steady hands.
