>>7404531>It helps both modes look better.Only if you're a cartoonfag. And I don't even get it, there's barely any difference between the windshield in either mode (pic related). And really, any argument that you could make about "looking better" in terms of accuracy is completely destroyed by the unnecessary panel lines and hinges that the window transformation adds to it.
Another anon here once used the term "bad design philosophy" and I think that's probably the best descriptor I could use for new MPs. They're hitting a point of diminishing returns where they're adding dozens of steps, tons of panels and gobs of kibble to figures all for the sake of making them marginally more accurate, and generally it seems that the people this appeals to are the diehard cartoon fanatics who are least-likely to transform or play with the toy anyway.
>>7404555Also, all of this. It's a clunky thing to put into words, but I value the "honesty" of a Transformer's modes. Having every identifiable marque of an alt mode replaced by a fake part in robot mode kills the joy for me. It's like it's not really a transformer; it's a vehicle and a robot that just happen to be hinged and pinned to each other.
>>7404567I feel like part of the reason they did it was just so it would be markedly different from MP-10's chest transformation, like they don't want collectors to feel like they're buying the same toy again.
