>>10438563I think it might be a few years before we fully understand what a setback that movie was to the IP. It was supposed to get a fresh batch of kids into the IP like Spy Troops, Sigma 6, and the movies did before it, but it was so devoid of any of what makes the GI Joe IP special that it's had even less of a cultural footprint than Sgt. Savage or G.I. Joe Extreme. Not making the main line 1/18 scale was a huge mistake, but so was the movie itself, so it's just as well that they don't fit with an established line.
I've ranted about why the movie was trash enough in these threads. Suffice to say, Hasbro put all their chips on a lame horse and now GI Joe is pretty much an adult collector line only except for the GI Joe dads who have kids. I'm sure in a few years Hasbro will try again but they will likely have less creative control over it since they are getting out of the movie business. And a fat lot of good that creative control did them when they sabotaged their own movie as bad as any third party studio hack could.
