The homogenisation of youtube has resulted from both the lowest common denominator shaping the algorithm and the feedback effect of more people doing that exact same shit to have even the slightest hope of breaking into the market.
I'd do 1/6 and 1/12 clothed figure reviews to post in-between finished projects; a POV unboxing, show some details, test the articulation etc. No voice, no face, at most some text on screen. The kind of review Id want to watch but thought few people made. Id get average viewership on those unless it was a popular character or a limited or expensive release. Fair enough, literally who am I.
One time I had a female friend appear briefly in a video about 3D printing to do a 'reaction'/side by side with a 1/12 doll that had been made in her likeness. Blew up, most exposure I ever got on a video. The same exact review content with just female hands being recorded in the POV and a female voice also greatly improved viewership.
