That nozzle from the Fire Vulture flamethrower always struck me as odd and underutilized and when I checked bricklink it turned out that the piece was from 1995, then wasn't used for an entire decade until 2005/6 in a few Dino Attack and Exo Force sets only to be discarded again afterwards.
