It works beautifully even on delicate as fuck warhammer and military models that have been painted.
Make up brushes work too, but they'er more expensive and don't do a better job anyway.
For light dusting, i just keep dust my shelves individually and taking the figure to dust it right next to an air purifier to suck up the dust.
Having someone help you works is always the best though. IT can turn half a day's work into an hour or two of fun, since my nephews like playing with my toys.
sometimes i take down the whole shelf with the figures on them to do it outside, but that depends on how i set up the shelves. I rotate what i have on display.
