>>7471410I'm probably more excited for 1A Max than I would be for the 1S because a) I've never had a 1A Max before, b) I wasn't expecting a 1A Max, whereas I know a 1S is inevitable (but will Bandai pull a fast one and make it exclusive like the HMR VF-1S Roy? hmm), and c) I think the 1A Max makes a better partner to the 1J since it lets you make 2/3 of Vermillion team.
I'm not really enthusiastic about a 1A Kakizaki (especially since I have a strong feeling it's gonna be web exclusive), but dang I'd have to get it to finish the team.
>>7471413The DX Chogokin line has been pretty consistently good-to-great ever since the VF-25 Renewal releases (the original non-Renewal VF025s were abominations, haha). I have most of the major versions of VF-1 toys released, and I think the DX VF-1 is the best VF-1 toy ever plus it's simply a superb toy in general. There's certainly arguments for other versions of the VF-1 (I love the smaller HMR VF-1 for it's playability and breadth of releases), but in terms of detail, feature set, and overall goodness the DX VF-1 is the best.
The primary downside to DXs is availability; you HAVE to be awake and refreshing store pages when preorders open for the best chance to get one. If you can't secure a preorder, your chances of getting a DX (for non-scalper prices, anyways) are very, very low.
If you want a great valk toy, I can heartily recommend staying up late on 4/7 (if you're in the US) to refresh 1A Max preorder pages with us, haha.
