>>7572507This is the first minifig I remember owning. I can't recall the occasion, who got him for me, or even how old I was. It was set 6009, the Black Knight. Freaking awesome set too, with a fully armored knight, generous pile of weapons (gee bill how come your mom lets you have TWO swords?) and a trusty steed to ride into battle. And battle he did, through countless conflicts across the years, always on the good side, often alone or with a small group of like-minded virtuous warriors.
Through all his adventures he's lost some of his original bits; the dragon wings for his helmet (the dragon crest itself is the original); the armor piece and all the weapons; all my horses got mixed up over time so I can't say for sure if it's his own; the saddle, as the clips on the original broke long ago. His head is pretty beat up too, with scratches and teeth marks, must've got stuck somewhere at one point. His uniqueness means so much to me that I've avoided getting more of his head for other minifigs, though there might be one around somewhere in my collection. I also haven't put together a band of Black Knight troops, something I've done with nearly all the other Castle factions. He will always be a solitary figure in my mind, with no need or desire for anything but the next adventure, the next battle.
