For the Season 2 morphing sequence when the Dinozords turned into the Thunderzords, I was part of a small team of nerds that had to make it happen. We made miniature mountain ranges, painted a sky scrim, bought toys in the store to turn into puppet props, and shot all the elements on film. Later we composited all the layers, including an actual digital morph between two puppets, drew some electricity frame at a time on top, and voila! It's Morphin' Time!! Titanus was from another live action shoot. I distinctly remember pulling Titanus on a string toward myself as he shot small pyrotechnic charges in my direction. Ha ha ha! Too much fun at work."Meanwhile the New Zealand team just scans a bunch of ZAP toys and makes the sequence look like some fan project on youtube.
