Trying to make a larger point out of something could be justified if it was done out of genuine concern or sadness for this person or what happened to them, everyone kinda knows that's not the case here though because you probably wouldn't have given it a comedic framing device.
The reason that I'm specifically sure this is the result of some sort of maldevelopment though, is because I'm pretty sure I can find a Chris Chan video where he does all these same things.
