Going by figures released before I got into the hobby, it seems like 3rd parties used to be more willing to make figures just to be fun figures. Just look at TFC's Hades, the limb bots have PCC ports for no real reason beyond have a fun extra feature on them. Perfect Effect did a stylized Ginrai with a G1 trailer that could turn into God Ginrai-styled armore for him. Or look at Maketoys Nemesis (pic related, just got him in yesterday), with its cloak, chains, and special head mold. We still have some amount of fun figures being released, like TFC's STC series and FansHobby's UT remakes, but for the most part it feels like 3rd party designers are just concerned with making display pieces of characters and that have been done to death already.
