>>10610979It's from a set that goes back over 20 years, my brother got it around 2001. Haven't been able to find it online but the set had a good-sized mountain fortress with bunkers on top and a hinged door and a button that made combat sounds, that Abrams tank and Apache Longbow as well as a Humvee and green and purple army men. The soldiers were copies of Airfix WW2 soldiers, green being British Paras, purple German Infantry. Interestingly, the German prone machine gunner pose was also made in green; seems someone noticed the British were light on firepower and wanted to balance things a bit.
No idea what company made the set or if we still have the mountain fortress; have a feeling it's stored somewhere but finding it is not gonna happen at this time heh. I've seen the soldiers pop up in second-hand finds on the occasion but this is the first time finding some of the vehicles too. The Longbow is missing its pylon-mounted missiles unfortunately, but is otherwise good to go. The other Apaches in this pic were from another army men bucket set, think I found them about 10 years ago (at TRU perhaps?), packaged with Timmee-style soldiers and other stuff.
