If you look in pic related and see how the feet originally looked, the slanted part is at the back of heel and if I just flipped them over it would still have the same size foot print and not fold up against the lower leg as well. By flipping it over, the slanted part is now at the back of the top of the foot so that it can hinge up against it and then use the fist as a heel which let's him stand up on his hind legs easier. If that makes sense.
