It's too "Fake". It's trying too hard for cartoon accuracy and in so doing it's missing the forest through the trees.
Like, whenever you see a part of a vehicle on the robot, that part should, whenever possible, actually be part of the vehicle. On the new Prime, literally the only "real" part is the smokestacks. Everything else is "fake".
And I'm not opposed to SOME trickery when necessary; but it has to accentuate what's already there. Everything on MP-10 is "real" except for the grill, but the figure wouldn't look right without it, for example.
But, crucially, there's a line.
Fucking everything on Prime 3.0 is fake. The goddamned GAS CANS are fake. That's too much. That breaks credulity for me.
This isn't a new argument, but seriously, if everything on Prime 3.0 being fake is okay, then what's stopping Takara from just releasing a Prime that just has a truck shell you slap over-top? Or just having an Optimus Prime action figure that comes with the truck as an accessory?
Where do we draw the line in the sand?
