Some guy was saying that people liking the prequels is nostalgia, yet that ignores the fact that people were already adults and teenagers way back when when they first watched it starting in the 90s.
Not everyone was a little kid with a fuzzy memory who only saw the giant backlash that happened after RLM hit like you.
The proof is in the pudding.
People buy shit that they like and they continued buying these prequel characters because they like them. It wasn't just collectors buying those toys, because unpopular characters and accessories were shelfwarming way back when. Everyone else that was liked? Gone.
Same shit with AotC and then RotS, so you can't blame TPM being overhyped and seen as an instant gold mine. AotC and RotS saw realistic sales, rather than speculative investments.
