All those happy-faced Lego people are calmly awaiting the train that will take them down the dark tunnel with light at the end, to Paradisa.
Or, it could be a subtle historical reference to the "black market" train disaster in 1944 Italy, where a severely overloaded passenger train entered a tunnel and stalled due to the grade, suffocating hundreds with carbon monoxide. Your guess is as good as mine, really.
