No. In fact I buy less 3P now that everyone has gone full Tooner. The MPs no longer interest me and most MP Scale 3Ps look just as horrible. Outside of some of the more interesting repaints/retools of 3P Legends stuff I'm mostly just content with the mainline, who outside a few stinkers are doing some incredible work right now at that pricepoint.

I've got MM Devestator in the mail right now but he's one of the first 3Ps I've wanted in a while. Before him I guess the figure I was most excited for was Athena and we all saw how that awful piece of shit turned out.

I like Arcee a lot but I want them to do her right. The ER mold sucks but the new SS Bumblebee one looks awsome and both T30 and the Cyberverse are really good. The MP is good too which is a miracle in the Tooner MP era, with her only problem being her giant solid backpack.

If they can just give us the T30 transformation with ER's articulation and retool the backpack and buttflap we could finally have a perfect Arcee. All we need is an Arcee whose backpack splits into the two seperate units like its supposed to

Just received my MP Reboost. God damn I know this will probably be a one-off but it’s refreshing to have an MP figure with a straightforward, fun transformation, solid materials, great paint quality and a sensible price tag again after enduring years of tooner autism.

Just say Geewunner. Because tooner seems like a faggy way to say that. Realistically, if you want tooner to stand, you should use it to refer to ALL ultra cartoon accuracy, not just G1. But yes, it is frustrating.

It's not an aethetic thing. SS86 has more articulation, is less hollow, and has more consitent proportions. I do generally like G1 toy Perceptor more than his cartoon counterpart, but TR doesn't even have the faceplate, size, beefiness, or weapons of the G1 toy. Hell, TR doesn't even have all his sticker details.

I have a major soft spot for early 3P, greebles and all. I miss the days when they put their own spin on their figures- it also felt like the competition was less hostile. Like, the aesthetics were so different between companies that there was something for everyone. Now everyone is competing for the exact same market space, and I foresee it sending the 3P industry into a cannibalistic death spiral. Because you have this ever shrinking audience of tooners, and anyone who's not interested in that look has nobody catering to them, so when the tooner bubble bursts there will be nothing to fall back on.
