I was at the Wal-Mart and walking through the clearance section I noticed they had a bunch of the two least desirable He-Man figures on sale for $5 each, down from their original $24.97.
They had "Buzz Saw" Hordak and a black guy called Clamp Champ.
They had a couple of WWE He-Man toys as well for $5, a bunch of Bill Goldbergs, a bunch of Stephanie McMahons, and an Ultimate Warrior, but I didn't get any of those.
Anyone have these and can describe just how bad they are?

None of them are bad, MOTU Origins is pretty much a what you see is what you get line. You won't be impressed or amazed but if you're ok with them they can be fun.
The ones you saw on clearance are just bland or redundant designs. People just rather have a plain Hordak and Clamp Champ is underwhelming.

They are good toys, but just that. It's pretty much all the Origins figures offer.
The designs and gimmicks are what sell them and Clamp Champ's just happens to be kind of shit.

No idea why people would want normal Hordak over Buzz Saw Hordak, though.

the only bad part is that they're made by, distributed by, and marketed by Mattel, like a simple $10-$15 isn't enough, we gotta 20 other things, virtue signal, and tank the franchise for another decade

I doubt those two will ever see clearance, I imagine they sell out right away when they go on the shelf.

The comic books were funny, the Hordak one was simple enough with He-Man beating him, but the Clamp Champ one has him andd Man-At-Arms essentially failing at their job to protect the king and queen from Skeletor, after specifically telling He-Man 'they got this' so He-Man has to swoop in at the last minute to save the day and activate Skeletor's battle armor chest.

Clamp Champ is an OC they made for Origins to help add "Diversity", he didn't exist in the vintage and thus everybody hates him and won't buy him.

Yes it is, they're trying to make the line woke and won't release fan favourite characters due to deeming them "outdated for modern sensibilities".
Just look at all the Sun Man figures they're making instead of Snakemen and New Adventures.

Holy retard.
Literally all next year is dedicated to Snakemen. They're changing the packaging art and everything for "Rise of the Snake Men". And most all of the non-snakes will still get snake variants (Snake Armor He-Man, Snake Teela, Serpent Claw MAA)

Maybe they just don't care much for the gimmick and would rather have the bat shield and a cape that doesn't stick out? Although I don't think they ever released standard Hordak with fixed eyes did they? That to me was the biggest dealbreaker.

Culture war shit aside, I'd much rather they invite Galaxy Warriors, which was a well accepted yet unofficial part of the later days of the original toyline, into Origins than making an Eternian branch of the Burger King Kids Club.
It's just a waste. The only vaguely interesting designs are the pig guy, the ISIS member, and the fucking cube head man that they didn't get to make in the original line.

I have to go back later to pick up something I forgot, I may pick up a Stephanie McMahon and the Ultimate Warrior for $5 while I'm there. The Goldberg one is just too generic looking.

Nah because I got into He-Man through Origins, I had no prior nostalgia and just thought the toys were fun which they are.
