I'm not a Power Rangers fan but this looks pretty dang neat from a toy perspective. I'm checking out some Google Images and Wikis, and it seems this guy's a little bit off. The back of the hands need some blue paint apps, the chest doesn't stick out as much for the cockpit gimmick, the face seems a tad off too. I'm sure there'll be plenty of nitpick and actual issues that true fans can spot that I can't.

But, you know what? I'm really digging this. I collect way too much other crap to add this on my plate, but I just love the whole articulated yet looks retro as fuckness of this fella.

At the end of the day, that's all I ask.

I've personally never seen the point of having big Zords if there aren't going to be any monsters even remotely in scale with them, so for me SMP is perfect. Also after decades of collecting shit space is at a premium.

ZAPs are not made with screen accuracy in mind, they directly acknowledged that in the reveal video for the Megazord. I feel bad for people who've wanted a screen accurate Astro Megazord though, those prices for the original are insane.

So if they continue the ZAP Megazord line, here is the height of each one (in inches) based on their canon heights that fits the 1:144 scale that Hasbro has put them in.

There are a ton of old 5" monsters to pull from so that's plenty, but they also scale fine with Hasbro's non-oversized villains.

No there isn't. The vast majority of Bandai's monster figures had great sculpts which hold up today.

I have several SMP and I wouldn't say all that, they are really nice but the aftermarket (still hurts missing GaoMuscle) and nature of being a model kit makes them a real turnoff. Compared to a ZAP Megazord an SMP is a lot more fragile and has sticker shit all over. If they could repurpose them as like pre-built figures made out of sturdier plastic then I'd see your point.

I feel people are too hard on Bandai with how the PR toyline went once the series was sold the clock started ticking. They had to have started working on the movie stuff a few years before it hit shelves, so the Ninja Steel line was compromised by the split focus since Saban/Bandai really wanted the 2017 movie to succeed. On top of that, the Legacy line was barely starting to move past MMPR which is probably why the 25th anniversary toys were all mostly repacks of old toys and cheap, dumbed down display pieces like the busts and non-transforming zords. Shogun Megazord and the Psycho girls were the biggest losses, and ones people who worked on the toys have confirmed were in the works at some point. Shame they'll never see the light of day.

The Legacy Falconzord was released in 2016. Bandai lost the license in 2019. There was plenty of time for them to make a Shogun Megazord if they had wanted to. Any company with a modicum of sense would put in those connection ports just in case. The existence of those ports alone is far from proof that they will ever be used.

There are clips on ZAP Astro's legs so Delta is for sure planned. What sucks is Mega Voyager and Mega Winger might be a long way off unless Hasbro wants to go all in on In Space's 25th Anniversary next year and do all four Megazord's.

I would rather build it myself and enjoy the experience than to pay double the price for Vietnamize children to assemble it for me, potentially fucking things up in the process. Also building it myself allows me easily paint it to my liking. For instance I hate grey plastic on robots, so the first thing I do is spray those sprues silver.

If SMPs were sold pre-assembled they would look the way they're advertised. So no, I still don't want the Vietnamese kid making them for me. I want to be able to easily paint the gold and silver parts before it's put together. Even if I do nothing else, that alone makes them looks significantly better. If you're autistic enough to care about seams and mold lines that's a thing you could do. That's the beauty of a model kit, you can go as crazy with them as your heart desires. Not having grey and mustard colored plastic for silver and gold parts is enough to make me happy. I have started hand painting smaller details as well since I built that one.

ZAP should use scaling, anything that looks like the suit actor shouldn't, that would make ZAP worth more to me ultimately since there's never going to be a monster line for these robots so they should at least cooperate in canon as a selling point

Specifications in Power Rangers are almost worthless trivia since you regularly see things on screen that contradict it. Besides stuff like irregular Megazord sizes, you would think Omega Ranger would be the strongest ranger in existence since he can grab light of all things at impossibly high speed, but he regularly gets his ass kicked by monsters from 20 years before his time.

The paint is worse no question, but that's the toy industry as a whole. You get less paint for more money these days. The sculpts are great. Better than the sculpts of all of Super7's Zord figures which are more expensive and all look off, almost cartoonish.

The longer legs fuck up the overall proportions, actually. I think the SoC manages to stylize the proportions without losing sight of what the original designers had in mind. Not every robot needs to have long as fuck legs, even more so if they don't adapt the rest of the body so it fits that aesthetic.

The weird gun is the Mega Heater, it was only in one episode (Green No More, Part II) which was one of the few episodes where the Green Ranger appeared during the Thunderzord season. This is really cool to see all lined up like this, but it just hits it home for me how bad the designs have been for years and years. The last truly good looking one was Time Robo, nearly everything after that is just horrible gaudy nonsense. Well, except for Dekaranger Robo and Daibouken. The rest is fucking stupid looking, or has a good shape but is sunk by the bad color scheme (like GokaiOh).

I love that thing. You can link it all together into one massively long train, then you couple them all side by side for combination. Once they're all coupled, the whole thing can still roll and then converts neatly to robot form with no partsforming. This final step of revealing the face from behind doors is a cute touch, too.

I bought the DX for my nephew when he was in his trains phase, and honestly its underrated. If the color choices were more muted and varied it'd be better appreciated. The first impression of it and the suits were just really bad for people they never forgave it, as a design its really neat as had great play value. One of the most cohesive modern sentai series we've had.

Its one of the modern sentai mecha who's combined form actually helps a bit, proportions aren't the best but the colors feel more balanced.

Dino Fury Green, Dino Charge Blue, Beast Morphers Yellow, and Wild Force Putrid all go up at 5pm EST for Premium members, 6pm for everyone.

Also, while they confirmed Yellow SPD, Pink Lost Galaxy, and Black Dino Thunder, Blue Dino Fury was also leaked as part of that same wave previously, so he could be the fourth member of that wave, which will go up for preorder sometime in the future.

Very excited for Alien Rangers though.

I haven’t bought the ZAP stuff but apparently the Astro Megazord is just under 15” tall. I know there was some concern about it being in scale with the Dino Megazord, so I hope this helps confirm/deny that for someone.

I hate that because you can see the gap on the shuttles left side where you stick your nail. Probably visible on the right side too. The locking mechanism is weak and it shows because even when closed you can see it still looks opened.

Holy fuck, it's like night and day. Bandai's figure, while lacking articulation, actually looks like it has care put into the sculpt and paint. Look at how clean those lines are! Hasbro got fucking lazy and shit out a blank body with tampos. On a design that's already so simple, you need some point of interest to keep things moving, like sculpted lines.

Hasbro couldn't even bother to give each Space Ranger a different helmet sculpt, it's just one generic Space Ranger helmet with all the detailed painted on. I disagree, the Bandai figure looks loads better. Like I said, when your design is extremely simple, you need something to make it pop. On Bandai's, that's heavily sculpted lines with extremely clean gloss red paint. It makes the best out of a pretty bland design. Hasbro's doesn't even have that, it has nothing to give it that pop.

...what? Maybe I'm missing something here, looks the same to me, just the package obviously looks better because it's a render, so it has more punchy colors and deeper shadows whereas the real thing just looks cheap and bland cast in mostly unpainted plastic. Looks like the same mold though.

Nah thats just excuses. If you know the plastic is gonna be shit color-wise then get the right paint. Look at customizers who have been able to get incredible colors into the figure solely by painting.

They've been using this same ugly butterscotch "gold" for ages, and they are well-known for skimping on paint apps, preferring to mold everything in color wherever possible. I guess maybe it could be improved if, since they went with the black gloves with red accents used in SFV, the gloves were painted completely black on the figure and the cuff was repainted red, maybe with a red line detail where the fingerless bits are meant to end.

That render looks so much better than the actual figure shots shown. The helmet actually looks birdlike and the white square portion being on the inside of the arm makes sense since his gauntlets have an open space there sometimes, but they have it on the outside in the promo shots and it just looks like they forgot to tampo something there.

At this point I think its unlikely if Hasbro sticks with the current 1/144 scale. Astro Megazord is already big, so according to >>10056112, Zeo Megazord would absolutely massive in comparison. Chances are they'll just drop the scale nonsense and just make new zords all ~12 inches as they always have been.

Story wise I'd consider it one of the best plus it gives a good ending to the Zordon era.
All around good villains (Astronoma, Ecliptor, Darkonda, psycho rangers),zords, rangers, and guest appearances by most past series villains and heroes
