I've noticed an insidious technique by Walmart and Target which impacts their exclusives. They are keeping their online stock of toys specific lines minimized compared to what it used to be pre2020 so that it is less likely you are able to find a few figures to bundle together that you want to get their free shipping. They will release exclusives at wider intervals to assure that they are more likely to sell out before you can bundle two of those together to get free shipping, making it a case where you have to either risk the sell out and losing the figure or pay for shipping.

I really hope they use this body for the Animated Series Lizard. He was a big guy in the show. Just give it an animated style head and a new bendy tail, and saturate the green. If they need do away with the cel shading I am for it, like the way they did deluxe animated Apocalypse.

I have pic related on pre order but everyday I feel the urge of canceling it (just seems like a lot of money imo). Would the eventual single releases be better than the 3-pack? I know the single release may come with alt heads but idk if I’d ever display them with those. It’s hard to gauge if the 3 pack will look good since I think the renders look pretty bland.

I have never customized an action figure before. I bought some paints and a Peter Parker unmasked head cast with the intent to pick up some green stuff to sculpt some hair and replicate this look for Kaine. How difficult is it going to be for me to sculpt those bangs? I’m not worried about the bun/ponytail, but the bangs/loose hairs worry me.

Apparently the 3 pack is being advertised as having premium paint apps, so the single-pack versions are probably not going to have quite the same level of detailed paint. Then again, if you look at Mojo the box set version is also supposed to have premium paint compared to the stand-alone release but as far as paint apps go the difference is fairly minimal.

A lot of factors. I think Daredevil itself is pretty bland, I hate that Bullseye (and already have the older one with the classic costume), and the price with tax and shipping came out to like $90. Even if I like the Daredevil and treat white Elektra as a good throw in, that's still too much damn money for 1.5 characters. I'll take my chances on them releasing that DD with a new deco that I like more. It all boils down to me not being 100% satisfied with it, so I canceled. Last customs general got archived already I guess. I say with no experience, you're much better off paying someone to do that for you. Sculpting and painting will both have a learning curve you won't get on your first try. You need to practice making modifications and paint work to scrap figures first if you want to do this yourself

Fallen One. The pack is like $70 over here, and I saw Fallen One sell on eBay for $40, so I guess I could have bought the pack and sold him, but it was a lot easier to just buy the BAF Terrax loose for $40.

Also they've added shading to the weapon on the new one, but none to the head. the gold is dull and the skin has this horrible brown tone to it.

I just got my Lizard in yesterday and it's awesome, but I completely agree with the anon(s?) frustrated with the state of toy pre order windows and availability. Make no mistake this is not some kind of supply issue, this is something done by design to sell as much as possible as quickly as possible in a purchasing pattern to make everyone feel like they absolutely have to order things immediately or else lose the chance to buy them ever. It is a manufactured scarcity in order to get us to CONSOOM as much as possible and it's complete bullshit, and has absolutely made the experience of checking out many toylines at retail incredibly frustrating or downright impossible. It's a bit sad to see so many of you jumping to defend this model, which is objectively bad for pretty much everyone except dedicated resellers.

Sure there's things like motu's online exclusives being a pain in the ass, or the chase figures for star wars galaxy squadrons and goo jitzoo being a pain to find, but I can go to any walmart or target in a 100 mile radius and see the shelves consistently stocked with their toylines. You kinda just wasted your time topcoating a house then and lack the critical thinking skills to be a successful painter. In actuality, exterior and interior paints have protection that's built-in. Additionally, having a fantastic primer will go a long way in protecting your paints for the long-term. Lastly, you have to factor in paint formula for different rooms. Ex., topcoating a bathroom will do you no good if it doesn't have mildew/mold protection.

Kinda sad that I have to teach you proper painting protocols.

I couldn't imagine living at home again. I'm 33 and moved out literally 2 weeks after I turned 18. I only moved back once for like 6 months when I had my next year's living situation fall through (don't room with people who have mental conditions) and it was utter hell. That's a help desk role, not sysadmin. A sysadmin that deals with that kind of shit isn't going to be highly paid since it'd be a tiny business. There's no such thing as "can't fix it". If they borked up a system bad enough, I just rebuild Windows on it, which takes an hour or so from start to finish with all the custom configs. Then they reinstall their app or whatever they had on the server. I'm not in charge of whether or not an application functions properly. I literally just give them a Windows server to install their shit on and patch it once a month. I'll get a call every once in a while because they rebooted a server and it hung up so I have to manually bounce it for them, but that's literally it. I manage Windows and 95% of the time when an application has an issue, it isn't with Windows.

From my experience, there is no checks and balances within a company beyond who is higher on the org chart, hidden social connections and legal ones. If someone higher than you on the org chart is in a panic and tells you to do something and you can't do it within their timetable, you are fucked and in big trouble. You must be dealing with external clients or something, where you have codified contracts and scope of service drawn up for them and losing a few due to bad experiences isn't a big deal.

Toy collecting was a somewhat cheap hobby if you were buying domestics. Talker art is in manual labor (construction) and he had one of the largest collections ever until he started selling it off.

I say 'was' though because Hasbro is changing that with their price increases and that is why you see people going nuts over said price increases. If everyone here was making 80 K year no one would be sweating an extra 5 bucks. Or the occasional $35 figure. No one would be talking about payment plans for Eternia, but I saw at least one youtuber broach that subject. And was of course horrified.

I find myself in a similar situation, though I'm 20 and will inherit my parents' house, hell even before they pass on. I don't necessarily see it as a problem or "sad" as long as he pays bills, helps around the house, and is socially competent like having a partner.

It's sad from the perspective of the American dream (I don't know if such a thing exists in the UK or what kind of lifestyle ideal UK people aspire to, but this is the American perspective). And for him whatever hope of economic prosperity he could've had, whether you call it by UK standards or American ones, was shattered. Life promised innocent children these things that would only ever be given to a few, that they would never be able to attain. He'll never be what he was truly meant to be, he will never be able to self-actualize and experience the joy in the freedom that that brings.

So many experiences that he could have had, people that he could've met, influences that he could've been a part of. All will be gone, the grandeur of a full life, just traded for a meager existence sitting in a room--the same room for decades and decades, from birth to death.

Anyone acting like there’s an unacceptable age to live with your parents is incorrect. Regardless of how many reasons there are to do it or not, there’s no blanket age where it suddenly becomes inappropriate to live at home. Yeah, I make 65k a year and still live with my parents because it's just easier. I've yet to be convinced why I should spend half my income just to be seen as "normal" when I'm currently saving 30k a year on average in my savings while still buying every toy I want and helping my parents financially as they age.

I just don’t think there’s any shame in not owning a home in your twenties, just because Big Real Estate has convinced people that houses (with huge plots of land) = good, and community housing = bad. Especially since the latter is much better for the environment, and allows you to ultimately save more money since stuff becomes more accessible by walking or public transit.
I wish America was more like some of the more architectural paragons, like the Northern European countries. Public transit is important to me.

This isn't true. America was so prosperous in the 1950s+ that people were able to splurge and buy what they wanted, so they naturally made small castles for themselves and their families. Because this is what humans desire naturally if they have the resources to do so. Everyone wants the best for themself. Only now that such lifestyle is more unsustainable have people come up with conspiracy theories that it's a trick to suck money out of you. It's just that it costs a lot more than it did in the 1950s because America is no longer prosperous.
