Sadly I don't have anything to contribute because I don't own any toys suitable for the setting (since I'm a third worlder), but bumping this because it's one of my favourite genres of photos. There's something very idyllic about a cute innocent toy being out in nature, no matter the subject. Nothing quite warms my heart like this.

Well, if your phone is old the camera can be shit. But if they're blurry maybe the issue is shaky hands. You could try a mini tripod for phones. They're very cheap.

I tried taking some pics with a cheap-o phone one time and they all came out blurry. I think the bad focal length made it hard to take decent toy photos. As an alternative, you could look into a 2000's compact camera, those take good photos and can be had for $50 or less.
